FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

I don't want to pay, but still appreciate the service - what can I do?
Leave a review - that's the (second) best way to show appreciation and provide support for the whole system. Thank you. Opening the app page from Garmin on your phone / ConnectIQ app will allow you to review.

Why is my paid license still showing as "Trial"?
After you visit the license page, Awesome Maps sets a reminder to check for a new licence when you start-up for the next 10-days. If you have paid for a subscription, a 3-day cooling off period gives you full funcionality and the option to cancel.

Where can I find license pricing information?
The 'License...' menu within the Awesome Maps app opens a page with direct links to the options avalable specifically for your device.
For an overview of the different options (seasonal or annual, with/without premium country maps) see the GarminApps Store.
Do NOT purchase direct from the store as this will not have the license association with your device - always and only use the 'License...' menu from within the app.

Why have I got black/blank areas on the maps?
Probably because some network connection interferred with the map download and Awesome Maps thinks it has a map segment but actually doesn't.
There is code to handle this, but maybe not for every case.
If you still have an issue with odd blank tiles, from the settings menu scroll down to "Clear Map Cache" - then contact us if that still didn't help.

Why are all maps not free?
Because certain providers require registration and (cost) licensing for their data, such as the Ordnance Survey in Great Britain.
And because there are other network and server management costs to keep everything running.
And because it takes some (a lot) of time to research and fix issues and add features.

How do I cancel my subscription?
The payment confirmation link from Dodo includes a no-password method to manage your payment. Follow the link and within your Dodo record there is the option to change or cancel your subscription.

Can you add specific country maps for where I live?
Possibly... where do you live?
Not all countries publish accessible map information, but more do each year. Get in touch, especially if you know data is available, either publically or under a developer license.
